“The madness of the flea has infected New York,” Alexandra Jacobs of the New York Times said of these all you can grab markets that have become as routine as brunch. Alexandra was referring to Brooklyn’s Dekalb Market in Brooklyn, which is stocked with everything from Caroline Herrera ready-to-wear to around-the-house tchotkes. One of our community members found this fur hat there last weekend but after receiving a change it, put it back on the shelf. Flea markets are wall to wall (metaphorically speaking) goods of everything vintage which, as we all know, is the buzz word of fashion. And although many of flea finds aren’t second hand, the “been there, done that” display makes shoppers inclined to pick ‘em up. Not in New York? Not to worry! Check out these flea’s around the globe: Rose Bowl, Pasadena; Dose Market, Chicago; Portobello, London.
