Our Paris Fashion Week correspondent, Mercedes Lambarri, managed to slip out of work today for a quick “Cafe Au Lait” aka the Chanel Spring 2012 show! And while everyone married to the pages of Vogue was inside, Mercedes managed to snap some very well suited ladies upon their arrival. To check out what these ladies were on their way to see, check out Style.com
Look 1: Go Wide or Go Home
Flare pants are everywhere this season. This look catches our eye because she paired her pants with a tidy white button down and cropped jacket. Accessories? Yes! She took to a belt like those seen the latest Louis Vuitton collection and of course, carried her personals in Chanel.
Look 2: Man Up
This menswear look is effortless, timeless and accessible. Her super wide leg pants topped with a tight lace blouse offer just enough balance. To compliment the look, add a simple clutch and original hat.
Look 3: If Looks Could Kill
We shouldn’t pick favorites, but how can you not! This bohemian look kills us (in the best way possible). The flared corduroys with an oversized army green parka keeps the outfit simple and allows room for chunky jewelry like her gold cuff bracelet.
Look 4: Paris by Pauline
The ultimate parisian look! Pauline wears an LBD with a trilby gray hat and opaque tights.
TUCK IT IN
Follow the lead of Blake Lively (chic enough to be escorted by Karl Lagerfeld!) and pump up your outfit by tucking in your top. It’s a simple idea, but if your look seems a little drab or unflattering, chances are a simple tuck in may just do the trick!

All of the Above Jean!
Throughout the ’90s, whether you were a star on Saved By The Bell or Beverly Hills 90210 or just an ordinary Joe, head-to-toe denim was a wardrobe staple. Sadly, when the decade ended, so did the trend. A denim overload was pretty much as ostracized by the fashion community as were shoulder pads and scrunchies. But, like everything else (except scrunchies of course), denim made a comeback and is now hotter than ever. Denim button downs and denim shorts over leggings played a serious role in our winter fashion wardrobes and now, the trend is coming out in full force as spring rapidly approaches. January Jones dressed down her gown by throwing on a jean jacket (a trick that works with any outfit) and these GO ladies prove that denim deserves a WearIt in almost any capacity!

Oscar Style: Simply Purple
While watching the 83rd Annual Academy Awards last night, we noticed two major trends traipsing down the red carpet: purple gowns complimented by a bare neck, creating a powerful “less is more” approach to fashion’s finest event. Best Actress winner Natalie Portman, her Black Swan co-star Mina Kunis and Scarlett Johansson all posed in purple and let the dress do the talking by wearing just enough jewels (do we think they got ready together?) And while we can’t wait to incorporate this trend into our spring style, these GO girls have already adopted purple as their GO-to pop of color!

COUNTRYSIDE CHIC
A good heavy knit, a few layers and some neutral tones help pull together the ease of the countryside look. Helena K gets the whole looks down with a chunky cardigan and green wellies, while Samantha H’s oversized heather gray sweater brings a cozy feel to her urban look. We think these girls pull of the rustic trend, do you?

UNDERSTATED COOL
Ultimate cool style icon Sofia Coppola is our inspiration for the seemingly simple styling of these GO ladies. These effortless looks are restrained, but still feminine and remind us of Coppola’s artistic and classic American girl in Paris vibe.

This week both us and our closets were blessed to have input from some of fashion’s finest: style editors from The New York Times style magazine, T. GO TRY IT ON was joined by Fashion Assistant’s Rae Boxer, Edward Barsamian and Chelsea Zalopany who took a stab at the style on our site and here are some key takeaways from their advice along with a few of the looks they tackled.
Key Takeaways:
- Black and white contrast: WEAR IT!
- Scarves are a great way to incorporate color/pattern into a look.
- Colored socks and rolled jeans: WEAR IT!
- Add rocker edge to a floral look by wearing ankle boots or a chain necklace.
- To complete a look, add a blazer or a chunky scarf.
- To balance a look: If you are wearing wide leg pants, wear a closely fit top. If you are wearing leggings or skinny jeans, wear a looser top.
- To balance color: If you are wearing an all dark look, swap your jeans out for a lighter wash.
- Stripes: WEAR IT!
- Polka dot tights: WEAR IT!
- Lingerie inspired dresses paired with boxy boy jackets: WEAR IT!
- If you have fair skin, wear blush tones.

Key Takeaways:
- UGGS: CHANGE IT! Unless you are in the comfort of your own home, running to the drug store or grabbing coffee, swap out UGGS with flats, boots or converse.
- If there’s too much going with your outfit, think of Chanel and take something off.
- Keep it simple first and then add sass and style with patterns through accessories.
- Don’t overload on hardware - If you’re rocking a leather bag and boots, don’t add a leather jacket and bag too. ***Rae agrees with this tip as well***
- Use color to accent your figure.
- If you want to experiment with pattern (like animal prints), start off with accessories and then try it with clothing.
- To add a modern feel to your look, add a jacket.
- Make sure your layering tank is strictly for layering. Do not make it visible. It looks sloppy and takes away from your outfit. Tuck it in!

Key Takeaways:
- You can’t go wrong with a blazer and jeans BUT make sure the cut of BOTH compliment your body and that the shapes balance each other out (if you’re wearing skinny jeans make sure the blazer is a little baggier and longer).
- If you have crazy nails or are wearing something loud, let that work as the accessory/speak for itself. No need to one-up your own outfit with more clutter.
- High-waisted dresses on big busted women: CHANGE IT! Instead, stick to solid colors and avoid color blocking.
- When in doubt, throw a leather jacket of your outfit no matter what it is.

LACE DETAILS
We love the trend of Victorian style lace details these GO ladies are wearing, as they make us think of the costumes in the cult classic movie Pretty Baby and the feminine touch they give to any outfit.

MODERN GIRL’S GUIDE TO V DAY
While pink and red are classic for valentine’s day, we say dare to modernize this year and go for something a little more stylized. Try layering, adding a belt to a feminine dress, throwing on some summery florals or adding some masculine touches to the usual girly ensemble.
