I have to be honest—I always pick my jewelry before I plan my outfit, and then choose clothing accordingly. This is likely because I run a jewelry company and I have a plethora of amazing pieces to choose from, but I’m of the firm opinion that accessories are CRUCIAL no matter what you’re wearing.

For New Year’s Eve this year, I’m wearing this feather necklace by Mixology (http://www.charmandchain.com/collections/necklaces). I’m very inspired at the moment by the Rodarte looks in Black Swan, and I think paired with a simple strapless or sleeveless dress in almost any color, the necklace will be perfect for ringing in the New Year in style.

If you’re anything like me and you like wearing more elaborate accessories, it’s so easy to find a simple, flattering cocktail dress (in fact, you probably already have one in your closet) and take your look to the next level with jewelry. A little bling can take a previously worn dress and turn it into something totally different, new, and exciting.

That said, here are some of my suggestions for fabulous New Year’s Eve Jewelry exclusively for GO TRY IT ON readers. Keep in mind that if you’re going to go all-out and be fashionably flamboyant, please don’t go too elaborate with your clothing. Sequins on rhinestones on chains on pearls can go horribly wrong. But something sparkly on NYE is a necessity!
